Yes, Bezos started selling books and was underwater for quite a while. He was proving the model with a very low cost item.
He was pedigreed and proven, had a great team and had a plan that he has since executed on brilliantly with multiple plays.
How much credence have we given the players here...how much of it was deserved and how much was feverish hype?
All prognostications and conversations are welcome.
