This. This is what it looks like when you've made a friend from across the globe online and you finally meet face-to-face on a video call.
How we ever connected in the first place is still a mystery to both of us.
We were both attracted to the conversations and the work that we saw each other doing, consistently. We connected.
Even though we had many spontaneous conversations online it was a special thrill to talk face-to-face with my friend and colleague, Esther Elueme, today.
The world is as big or small as your mind chooses it to be. We both choose life beyond any man-made boundaries and barriers.
Today we built a bridge that will last from Charlotte North Carolina, United States in North America to Lagos, Nigeria in Africa.
This made my day and I hope it inspires you to take action.
Having a strategy for the good of my network is a superpower. And today I'm extremely proud and happy to say that.

On Getting Up in the Air: Summer '22 Style
Here are our latest strategies for you to have the easiest travel possible.
⭐️ Check for parking and transportation options well in advance.
⭐️ Arrive much earlier than you are accustomed, even for my frequent traveler friends. Maybe especially for them. It's a little wacky right now.
This afternoon they have the D TSA checklanes c.l.o.s.e.d. 😳😳😳
⭐️ Expect crowds.
⭐️ Line up some great Podcasts or music and plug those headphones in.
⭐️ Breathe. Smile. Breathe again.
⭐️ Thank your airport service teams.
The ticket agents.
The bus drivers.
The gate agents.
The flight crew.
Everyone is overworked right now and on the edge.
⭐️ Dress for this weather.
The airports aren't cool and the airplanes are steaming hot.
⭐️ 90 anything equals a near certainty level of planes warmer than you prefer.
⭐️Try to sit back and remember the luxury that air travel is even when it doesn't feel luxurious.
There are lines everywhere, for everything.
⭐️Distract yourself and toss your winning Type A in the nearest recycling bin.
Everyone has roared back into air travel for pleasure and for business. Let's give the airlines a minute or two to catch up. But do hurry. ;)

Your women are not OK, friends.
Your female employees, your friends, your family members.
They are not OK.
Regardless of your personal opinions or lack of experience or sensitivity to this incredibly personal health issue, Please know that your women are suffering a traumatic throw back in their personal human rights in our country.
Women across the country yesterday had to go to private corners or gather with others as the shock and full impact hit of this dragonian decision hit them.
What an ugly dicatomy of images to think of how important weaponry is to so many men while women are left to fend for themselves even in the face of a rapist who would impregnate her and she would be forced to carry this criminal's DNA.
Even without a traumatic event, we must trust women to know what is best for themselves, their families their bodies.
It will be very difficult to tell women they matter to you and not address how are own government is dehumanizing them.
I am very clear this is a professional platform. This is where important decisions are made every day.
People of influence are here. We have influence and we are here.
If I hide my voice, then I am guilty and an accomplice.
Corporations who care about their women as much as their men are lining up and going public with their offering to support women every way they can, including financially.
Please feel free to add your company's name in my comments if you are going to support women everywhere.
Please also feel free to also add your company's name if you choose not to support women.
It's important women know this as they're making important decisions including where to work. Culture is a choice.
By the way, if like most of my network your family has has the ability to make these types of things *go away quietly* no matter the government's decisions, you have a responsibility to support those without the same options. All women deserve what you are doing privately.

I was in a life threatening situation after a spontaneous miscarriage.
😢My body was going septic.
I was young, but married.
They did not know if I would ever be able to have a child again after the ravages from my mishandled, untreated miscarriage.
I called the doctor twice as the hemorrhaging began and continued that entire Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
The doctor, unbothered, waving off my concerns, asking me if 'everything came out'. Yes that's what he said "Did everything come out?" I remember clearing this saying to him,"I'm not sure. What would that look like?"
I asked if I needed to come in. Be seen.
Sounding annoyed, he said, "No, you should be just fine."
Two weeks later, i called his office again as I laid on my bathroom floor with a fever.
I was drenched in sweat, in a fog, But dressed myself and drove myself to the doctor. ( Don't worry I divorced the man who left me there to take care of myself, but it took 10 more years.)
Upon examination the same doctor sent me straight to the emergency room. Yes, I had to drive myself there.
They were horrified when I arrived.
I could have died.
Unable to reach anyone I went through a D&C alone. I thank God for the nurse who understood my fear and how ill I was.
🥺 Just so we're all clear this is clinically called an abortion. It would now be illegal in many States for them to administer this life saving treatment.
I spent 5 days in the hospital getting pumped full of antibiotics and treatment. I was not allowed to leave my bed due to how serious my condition had become.
5 years and 3 kids later I decided I needed a tubal ligation. I had to go to 3 doctors to find one who would do this procedure.
I was too young they said... what would my husband think they asked.
I don't care what the decisions need to be made, women need to be allowed to have control of their own bodies and their own personal health decisions.
We must be our own advocates and we must have bodily autonomy.
We cannot rely on our government or the medical community alone to do this for us. It is our right.
It is not some frivolous privilege you can take away.
No matter the circumstances, abortion is health care.

Inspiration is wonderful. It feels great to have those 'aha' moments.
It also feels great to provide inspiration to others. But to arrive at the 'better place' or results this inspiration could offer, you need two more things.
Dedication. Now the work begins. We breathe life into the thoughts, feelings and ideas we had. We start making plans, testing their viability, bringing it from concept to concrete. But that's not enough and this is where too many stop-and fail to see their best possible outcomes.
Expectations. We now know What we want to do and Why, this is How and When.
This is where we move forward, faster and with greater confidence.
Using The Four Disciplines of Execution, I always help my clients define timelines, OKRs, lead and lag measures and proper involvement from all stakeholders. Action without Expectations is exhausting, chaotic and demotivating.
Wrap these three together- and keep the loop going. We always want your Inspiration and Innovation as part of your winning formula towards your Desired Successful (and Rewarding) Future.

This 'Independence Day' feels considerably less so.
***Horrifying update: Another mass shooting. People trying to celebrate at a parade.
Another young, white male.
And you wonder why some of us are upset? You should be also.
As positive of a person as I am, I am positive we have quickly forgotten about the women, children and people of color and all groups, not worrying about their ability to enjoy the same life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Apparently, *some* seem to think everything is fine as for the moment they have protected themselves throughout history up until now.
When the lives of American citizens are compromised by our very own, highly politicicized Supreme Court, it's time to examine our purpose as a country.
Or maybe this is completely in line with what a bunch of white slaveholders had in mind and we were just sold a bill of goods.
Stand up. Let your voice be heard.
Love our American women, love and protect our children.
Far too many women are not enjoying this holiday, I promise you this. The irony is not lost on us.
Stand up for equality and justice.
It's going to take all of us.

I have a lot to share about the great events that took place at Canada Used Car Week in Toronto. We'll get to that shortly…
For all of the precautions I have taken plus requirements Canada had to let us heathen Americans in the gate, guess who came home with a wicked run with Covid?!
Yes it happened. I had started to think I was bulletproof!
I thought the crushing headache I had on Saturday into Sunday was the result of pressing the limits of travel and work the last few months. However, it quickly turned into a fever and a host of respiratory symptoms.
Today is the 1st day I feel somewhat close to normal. I'm thankful for my clients working with me as I try to press through on an abbreviated schedule the last few days.
Stay diligent friends. Covid cases are skyrocketing and regardless to some common misconception, hospitalizations are rising quickly also.
I'll still be in my quarantine bubble for the next few days, but there's plenty of work to keep me occupied from one of my multiple offices in the house.
