Transformation, right before our eyes: Wnet - Women's Network in Electronic Transactions becomes PayTech Women!
Attending my first ever Wnet Conference on invitation, imagine how wonderful it was to be there as they renamed this powerful, 5500+ member organization to more fully and easily reflect who they are: #PayTechWomen!
I was introduced to this entire sector early this year by one of their President's Advisory Council members, Aubrey Amatelli. From the first call she set up with Wendy (Tronge) Holliday, M.Ed., CAE, I knew this was an incredible movement and I knew I wanted to support them and join in.
The entire event was outstanding- more on this in added posts- but to have a front row seat at their transformation and rebrand made us all feel part of their history and future!
PayTech Women is the perfect name for the group their founders launched over 15 years ago. Without their efforts, it wouldn't exist.
As new technologies emerged, 'Electronic Transaction' became more frequently labeled Payment and PayTech, hence, they have chosen a new moniker to reflect change and continuous growth and the pursuit of ongoing excellence. Plus, IMHO, it will make it easier for more professional women in PayTech, FinTech, et al to find their tribe- this incredible organization.
For my first venture into adding PayTech to my suite of industries I serve, this event and the rebrand were the icing on the cake.

Should you consider a rebrand to connect more quickly and easily to new partners and prospects?

It had been too long.
Too long since I had immersed myself into an entirely new industry to me.
Too long since I had intentionally pursued opportunities beyond the wide and deep borders of Automotive.
Too long since I surrounded myself with the company of female-only professionals leading their companies.
Too long since I stopped and listened to how powerful my own message and support can be across any and all industries.
Too long since I looked directly into the eyes of so many women, eager for answers for Career Strategies for breakthroughs, ready to build their confidence, poised to strengthen their Executive Presence, Delivery and Communications muscles.
Too long since I felt rejuvenated and inspired.
How long is too long? It may only be days, weeks or months- but your Too Long is yours.
The late night drive home from Atlanta offered me time to begin laying out more plans, new ways to execute and the solid, pounding reminders of how the work I'm here to do impacts lives.
It's a privilege to hear this voice.
It's a responsibility to know it and deliver on it.
I will always advocate and offer allyship to women. Stick with me as I continue to sharpen my arrows on all of the ways to do it most effectively and efficiently for the greatest results for more women.

There are nearly 20,000 franchise Auto dealerships in the US. With the advent of huge independent operations now numbering in the thousands as well, what does good attendance of Dealership Leadership look like for a forward thinking conference or event?
And how many attendees of any given conference are the same ones at every conference, and primarily Vendors?

At no point in the year do your customers, and often your employees, care about your timelines.
What calendar and timelines do they care about? Theirs.

Always assume that it's best not to wait on a critical conversation.
Communication works best when you address any situation as early as possible.
Reduce confusion or ambiguity.
Increase Respect and Partnership.
Decrease time delays due to lack of certainty and do so earlier.
Time is crippling your Communications.
Waiting allows distrust to creep in.
Do yourself, your clients, your teams all a favor and have the Courage to Communicate Earlier!
Tell them that it's difficult, but you didn't want to wait. Many times they will thank you for having the courage to start the conversation.
Like taking out the garbage, it only gets worse the longer you wait.
