Travel Note for CLT based flyers:
Due to construction, low staffing and high volume of travelers, many of the normally wide open Charlotte airport parking options are closed or reservation only.
Luckily I remembered Express Valet and made it over there.

Ready, Set, Strategy: The Dealer Group Edition
My luggage had barely moved back to its resting place when the call came in Monday morning. Would I be willing to take off the next day to visit with a dealer group for the rest of the week?
This was to be my home office week after extended time away.
But I had been referred to this Dealer by some tremendous industry colleagues, met with them via video last week and was impressed by their progressive mindset.

On Our Current BDC Processes or 'Why You Don't Have More Traffic!': How Seamless, Effortless and Effective is it for Customers and Prospects to Try to Contact You, Secure Information and Do Business With You?
'The Phones' Edition.
When I am onsite working with Dealer Groups of all sizes, after reviewing their 'People' and Leadership and understanding their full financial profile, this is my next step.
Why?
Customers=Revenue! Dealers place their hope and Marketing Dollars in securing and retaining new and past clients.
But Marketing is often not accountable for nor concerned about your results.
Meanwhile, even the most successful Dealerships are hemorrhaging interested Customers.
⭐Step One:
Mystery Shop your own locations.
All of them. All Departments.
👉I will share one rule:
You can only use numbers you publish to the public and you must not do anything while on hold or stuck in a voice mail tree other than take notes on how long it takes, what is happening, how loud/scratchy the hold music is, etc. You get the idea, right?
📢 Be Prepared to Be Humiliated, Frustrated or Worse!
Your kneejerk reaction will be to call someone to your office and start asking a lot of questions you should have asked a long time ago. This will only result in more frustration, and most likely, nothing will be solved.
👉 You must take a deep breath, splash some water on your face if needed and continue the full task. (And remember, this is only Step One!)
Keep taking notes.

There is work to do right at the Real Front Entrance to your Dealership.
Top 5 FSG Findings at this Stage:
1) Phone Numbers going nowhere
2) Excess phone #s designed to track traffic
3) Phone lines routed incorrectly
4) Confusing Phone Trees requiring Customers added effort
5) Excessive Hold Time
All are unacceptable, but fixable.
You spend so much money on Marketing, only to lose Customers trying to reach you.

On Father's Day Weekend.

This Father's Day weekend, I wish all of the great Dads out there who are swinging for the fences, trying hard to do the best job they can, the very best day. You're doing the very most important thing.
This will be my first Father's Day without mine.
While many of you celebrate, remember that this weekend is hard for a lot of people.
But still we celebrate.
We celebrate lives well-lived and lives being lived well.
This beautiful sunset tonight was exactly what I needed.
Miss you, Dad. You always knew how much I loved the sky and the stars so I'll take this sunset as a gift from you tonight.
And to my son and my son-in-laws I thank you for being such great fathers to my 4 grandbabies.
Fatherhood is a gift. Use it well.
Enjoy it all. The mess, the beauty, the struggles and the victories.
One look into their eyes tells you you're getting it just right.

Maryann Keller: A remarkable woman from her earliest days straight through the finish line.
A researcher at heart, she always relied on and created the data to provide exceptional insights with accuracy.
She possessed an insatiable curiosity and was courageous enough to speak up even against the OEMs.
Imagine hearing her in the seventies telling #Ford, #Chrysler and #GM that Japan was coming and getting booed off the stage.
Just imagine this.
She was right. The room wasn't.
This rogue professional female, no matter her accomplishments, getting booed by a room full of men. This alone gives me more inspiration than you can imagine.
The automotive industry is better by far for her having lived lived in it.
My only regret is that I never had a chance to meet this giant. Make sure you connect connect with those who inspire you. And do your best.
